Chalo Nitka Festival
March 1st, 2013 - $5 Admission, Free w/ 2013 Chalo Nitka Shirt, or Traditional Seminole Attire
The Chalo Nitka Festival is probably the most well known event during the week-long festivities. The festival is located at Chalo Nitka Park (across from the school board office). You're guaranteed to have a great time riding the midway rides, enjoying great local food, browsing traditional Seminole arts and crafts, or finding that perfect western accessory... But why stop there? The Chalo Nitka Festival features Alligator Wrestling, Seminole Storytelling, Live Entertainment, and much much more. Chalo Nitka is more than your typical fair or festival, It's Wild!
Be sure and check out the traditional Seminole Chickee Huts, Seminole Indian food vendors, and the traditional Native American arts and crafts for sale throughout the festival. Celebrating Glades County's relationship with the local Seminole Tribe is a big part of the Chalo Nitka Festival.
Admission to the festival is only $5! Skip the lines by buying your midway tickets and entry wristbands early at the Glades County EDC Office (Old Chamber Building). If you need directions, please call (863) 946-0300. Wear traditional Seminole Indian attire or a current Chalo Nitka T-shirt and get FREE festival entry.
